Braided hairstyles are so easy and turn your hair from drab to fab! YouTube tutorials have made it super easy to learn new styles. These braided hairstyles will help you dress up/down your outfits! Check them out and see which one you'll be rocking next!

BRAIDED SOCK BUN

The sock bun is easy to do and makes you look super cute and classy. If you want to go all out, try the braided sock bun! It will give you a little extra fun to your bun.

BRAIDED HALO

This hairstyle is so cute! It's sort of like the "braided headband" but it goes all the way around, like a halo. This type of braid can be sort of tricky at first, youtube can come to your rescue! Ask your hairstylist the next time your in the salon to help with this look.

FISHTAIL PONY

The high pony is great to rock when you're on the go. It gives you a sleek, sexy look! This is an easier way to perfecting the fishtail. The high pony helps keep your hair in place while you braid it down.

INFINITY BRAID

There's not much explaining that's needed for this one. Like the name suggests, this braided hairstyle goes on and on and on. Be patient the outcome will be fantastic! Try practicing on someone else to perfect this look.

ZIPPER BRAID

The zipped up braid leads up to the bun, and is such a cute detail. If you're sitting in front of someone or walking, at least the person behind you can appreciate the effort you put into your hair. This is easy and will get you tons of compliments.

SWIRL BRAID

You definitely need a lot of hair for this style. It's just one super long braid that swirls around your head. The detail in this style is beautiful! If you have a special event coming up, this look might be for you.

KNOTTED BRAID

How cute is this style? It's similar to the French braid, but has its own sort of twist to it. The style looks like each strand is knotted together! If you want to rock this look, find tutorials online! You'll have this style down in no time.
These seven braided hairstyles are awesome. Which style did you love the most, and where would you wear it to? Make sure to ask your hairstylist the next time your in Nicole Jeffrey's for help starting you off on this braided adventure!

Red Carpet Inspired Updo's

GORGEOUS RED CARPET
INSPIRED UPDO'S

Keeping your hair off your face is vital to staying calm and cool, and what better way than to rock the latest catwalk trends? Here’s the red carpet inspired updo's.

GLAMOR MEETS WET LOOK

Two of the biggest looks of the season are wet look hair and retro vintage styles. There aren’t many red carpet inspired updos that can carry off both looks perfectly, but I’m loving this one! Giorgio Armani teamed a slick side-parting with plenty of wet-look style, pulled back into a classic bun at the back of the head. Striking pastel eyeshadow and nude glossy lips are a great way to wear this look for the daytime, or add a bright red lip to really ramp up the retro.

THE NEW BEEHIVE

Plenty of leading ladies have rocked the beehive recently, so it was no surprise to see Marc Jacobs giving it a chic new makeover. You create the look in the same way, adding plenty of volume at the roots, but sweep your hair out the side rather than back.

BUN FUN

It’s no wonder that this look is a celebrity favorite – it’s super easy to do, and ideal for those days when you haven’t got much time! Chanel gave the look a modern update by creating a straight center parting, and spraying the hair with a shine boosting spray, before tying into a low slung bun behind the neck. It’s a great look for wearing with statement makeup, as it’s chic without being too bold.

RETRO BOWS

For an off-duty style, loosely tie a colorful scarf through your hair. When you need a more together style, this Louis Vuitton look is perfect. Create a small classic beehive, keep your parting clear, and add a big retro bow on a satin headband. It’s perfect for day-old hair!

BOUNCY PONYTAILS

Reese Witherspoon’s retro style with everything from the backcombed fringe to the big volume, and her smoky eye and nude lip finish the look perfectly. Frederic Fekkai created the look, and recommended treating hair with a volume and texturizing spray, before a smooth finish serum. Then blowdry hair to add volume, using a big brush, and split the hair into two sections. Comb the fringe back, and secure. Curl the bottom of the ponytail to add movement, and secure with plenty of hairspray.

TEXTURIZED

Scarlett Johansson looked gorgeous with this hair, so it’s no surprise to learn that it was created especially for her. Frederic Fekkai wanted to show off the “real Scarlett,” and so opted for a hairdo with plenty of natural movement and texture. Get the look by working a volumizing styling whip through towel-dried hair, before using a hairdryer and round brush to create big, tousled waves. Secure the hair using a grip at the back of the neck, and add more curls with a curling iron. Spray with hairspray, and tease the curls for more volume. Clamp the ends of the hair with a flat iron to create a sleek finish, and ruffle – this look is all about being imperfect yet gorgeous.

Prom Hair Tips 2012

I came across an article about the
5 Things to Consider Before Choosing Your Prom Hair Style

We have our own rendition of pointers as well to keep in mind while choosing what Prom hairstyle will best suit you.

1) What Style of Dress are you Wearing?
This may sound like a silly question because most all proms are formal, although the degree of formality does vary. Is your dress long or short? Is it beaded or simple? Does it form-fit, flow, or have the shape of a ball gown? All of these factors can be considered in order to have continuity in your entire look.

By having her hair gently up, this style does not distract from the beautiful back of Miley Cyrus' dress.

2) What Type of Maintenance Can You Handle?
Of course your hair will stay in place the entire evening so that is not the question here. It is more realizing there are different risks that come with each style. Will you be too hot with your hair down in curls? Are you going to want to keep pushing your hair out of your eyes if you let your bangs down? It is always easy to point out a pretty style but if it will work comfortably with you the whole night is the question to consider.
If you like every hair in its place this might not be the style for you, it is playful and fun, but not for everyone.

3) What is Best for Your Hair?
Hair lengths, textures, and definitions are different for everyone. The hair style you choose should compliment your hair capabilities not compete with them. The main question to consider is will your hair hold curl? I know anything is possible with the right product and professional although I guarantee you will be happier with your hair if you take its shaping qualities into the thought process.
Tyra Banks has the hair to hold this up-do stunningly. This style may not shape as well with fine silky.

4) What is the Weather?
This is probably the least-considered question to think of when seeking a style because it does not effect us until is too late. If your choose a down and flowing hair style and it rains or is humid, then there is a risk of frizz. Do not forget the wind easily whipping your hair out of shape in just one foul gust. If you are going to attempt to defeat any frazzling conditions our suggestion is to invest
$5 in a Bed Head hard head mini hairspray available at Nicole Jeffrey's!
Although the volume of this look was intentional, do not let frizz happen to you!

5) What is the Focus on?
Your hair style is essentially a work of art. There is always a focal point which the scene surrounds. You may have an object like a flower or decorative pins you would like to use. A braid, bun, or certain part of a style you may like can also make a feature. It is important to remember to allow some differences from a picture to your own hair because as mentioned before all hair lengths, colors, and qualities can alter the final look slightly. If you know you want a certain feature the stylist can transform your hair to you best.

This fishtail braid is eye catching and works great with softer materials because of it's youthful gentle look.

No matter what look you are going for we can help at Nicole Jeffrey's. It is always good to keep these pointers in mind as you contemplate your evening up-do!
